Peshawar girl claiming to join ISIS recovered from Karachi

However, the situation became clear when the police recovered the girl from Karachi.
According to the details of the incident provided, Huma Hidayat went missing on September 8, from her college hostel in Peshawar with no trace of her. Her father lodged an FIR with the police the very next day and since then searched commenced to find her whereabouts.
The father informed the police that Huma had a fight with her mother and had missed an exam as well. When the police started their investigation, they found that she had left a letter claiming that she had left for Syria to join the Islamic militant group.
When the case was probed further, it was discovered that Huma had never left for Syria but in face had just tried to mislead her parents. She had left her with a friend and left for Karachi via the Khyber Mail, after drawing money from an ATM.
The police later found out that Huma had rented an apartment in Karachi and even found a job there.
The police recovered her and returned the 24-year-old to her parents in Peshawar.
A police official told a local newspaper, “It was discovered that Huma had nothing to do with religious extremism and was very open minded and educated person.”
He added that she ran away from her parents as they did not like her free thinking and way of life. He also dismissed all the rumors circulating on social media and confirmed that the girl had reached her home safely.
