Scorned woman cuts off lover’s genitals in India

Love can make you take on extreme measures as is evidenced by an episode which took place in Malappuram, a city in the Indian state of Kerala, where a woman chopped-off her boyfriend’s penis after finding out he is marrying someone else.

According to the details of the incident provided, a 26-year-old man identified as Irshad, met up his 30-year-old girlfriend for the ‘last time’ before departing to marry a woman of his parent’s choice. Little did he know that the farewell would not be so easy as his lover chopped-off his genitals as a parting gift.

The Malappuram police provided an account of the incident to the reporters telling them how the woman had invited Irshad to a guest house in Kattipuram area on Tuesday to meet him for the last time. When he got there, she cut off his genitals with a knife.

Guests from the same motel heard Irshad’s screams and forced open his room’s door where they found him in a pool of his blood, reeling in pain. They rushed him to MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode, where he is undergoing treatment.

A video shows him lying in a hospital bed giving the thumbs up despite his condition. It was reported that the victim had received a partial cut in his groin area and was first taken to a local hospital. However, he had to be transferred later due to his condition.

A police official said: “The man is undergoing treatment at MIMS Hospital as of now. He was staying in the lodge with a woman. We have taken her into custody for questioning.”

The police did not provide any further information regarding the case, saying that it is still under investigation.
