Russian cannibal couple killed and ate 30 people
Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 3:37:42 by fatimaarshadA couple belonging from Russia has been accused of killing and eating 30 people in south-east Russia after pictures of their victims’ bodies were discovered on a phone belonging to one of the suspects.
The gruesome case is making headlines in the country after it was found out that the couple had been engaged in active cannibalism since 1999 and they were only just discovered.
The suspects have been identified as Dmitry Baksheev, 35, and his wife Natalia, 42. Both of them were arrested from their homes in the southern region of Krasnoder.
According to the details provided, a phone was discovered from a street in Krasnodar, containing images of a man posing with a dismembered body of a female victim. Tracing the suspect from his images in the phone, the police were able to get to Baksheev. However, he initially denied having killed the woman, saying that he had found the remains of the woman’s body and took photographs of him with it before losing his phone.
However, he later admitted to the murder along with another one which he committed in 2012. His wife reportedly later admitted murdering 30 people since 1999.
Baksheev and Natalia were employed as support staff at the Military Aviation Academy, owned by the Russian Defense Ministry. The lived in an apartment located at the premises and according to their fellow employees, the couple never invited anyone to their home.
The couple reportedly drugged their victims with a substance called Corvalol to subdue them before killing them. Their apartment also smelt of the drug.
Police discovered eight frozen body parts and flayed skin at the couple’s home along with 19 remains of human skin and a cache of footage called “video lessons for cannibals” and images.
Meanwhile the Russian officials have confirmed that they are investigating the case. However, they declined to give further comments saying that the case is in its investigative phase.
