Knife-wielding biker spreads fear in Karachi by attacking women

As many as eight women have so far become victims of knife attacks in Karachi around the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, spreading fear and panic in the city.

According to reports, a man wearing a helmet has been attacking women with a knife while driving his motorbike. The mystery man seems to attack women who are walking alone and he speeds past immediately after striking them.

According to reports, a 16-year-old girl was the latest victim of the attacker. Earlier, a 28-year-old woman was attacked in the afternoon while she was out of her house for some chores. The woman told reporters that the man attacked her with a sharp-edged instrument from behind and then hurried away on his bike.

Another girl who was attacked on September 26, told reporters that she was targeted by a man wearing a black helmet from behind. As a result she received injuries to her leg but somehow she managed to take a rickshaw to reach her house. Her mother immediately took her to the hospital where she received eight stitches.

The girl said that her father informed the police but instead of helping the family, the police detained her father overnight, asking for a bribe.

According to a spokesperson of a local hospital in the locality, as many as five girls have been brought there for treatment of knife injuries in the past three days.

Meanwhile the police have advised all women to remain vigilant and avoid going out alone after dark. The attacker seems to have some psychological issues as he is only targeting women in these bizarre attacks.
