Another girl stabbed with a sharp object in Karachi after police claim nabbing knife-attacker

The people of Karachi had heaved a sigh of relief after it was reported on Sunday that the infamous knife-attacker had been nabbed by the police from Mandi Bahauddin. However, it seems that either the real knife-attacker is still at large or there are copy-cats out there.

A new incident in a series of knife-attacks emerged on Tuesday when a girl was allegedly attacked with a sharp object. The incident took place in the city’s Azizabad area, and since then fear has gripped the residents of the area.

There is a slight difference in the circumstances of this attack as the girl was not walking alone. In fact, she was sitting at the back of a motorcycle while her brother was driving it. The girl was attacked with a sharp object just below her shoulder, and the attacker immediately fled.

So far it is not clear what the sharp object was but SSP Central sad that it will be ascertained once the doctors examine the victim and prepare a medical report. Meanwhile the girl has been shifted to a hospital to receive treatment.

Police had claimed on Sunday that they had arrested the Karachi knife attacker from Mandi Bahauddin in a joint operation with Punjab police. They found out that the alleged attacker, identified as Muhammad Waseem, had targeted hundreds of women in Punjab as well.

However, the police was still not certain whether Waseem is the same attacker from Karachi.

Since September 25, at least 15 women have been attacked by a knife attacker who rides a motorcycle in Karachi’s eastern district.
