Indian man caught trying to rape a woman on CCTV camera

The man was seen attacking a woman and pushing her against the wall and later attacking her again as she lay on the ground. The video has gone viral on social media and it has again sparked a debate over the increasing sexual assault problem in India.
The video shows a man walking down the lane wearing a lose cloth around his waist called lungi. The suspect was later identified as 33-year-old painter by the name of Jamsheer. He is seen in the video looking at the woman walking a few meters behind him. He is then seen slipping his right hand into his lungi. He again looks at the woman who is walking down the lane holding a bag.
Towards the end of the road as the woman tried to pass Jamsheer, he attacks her and pushes her against a mud wall. A scuffle ensues in which the woman falls to the ground while Jamsheer continues to hold her.
A man in Kozhikode district of India’s Kerala state was caught on a CCTV camera attacking a woman, pushing her against the wall and then attacking her as she lies on the ground. The attacker then runs back along the lane, before stopping to take a long look at the woman and then fleeing.
After the video of the assault went viral, the police arrested Jamsheer on Saturday. According to the Nadakavu police, the incident occurred on October 18, at around 5.45 pm in the evening.
The police filed a suo motu complaint and tracked down the woman who was attacked. She had an FIR registered following which Jamsheer was arrested.
