Monday, October 30th, 2017 4:07:55 by fatimaarshadA 14-year-old Russian model working in China passed away due to extreme exhaustion and a bad case of meningitis.
Vlada Dzyuba was on a three-month contract assignment in Shanghai, China and she had been working for long hours. During the Asian Fashion Week, the model had been working for the past 13 hours straight due to which she felt exhausted.
Dzyuba had also contracted meningitis but she did not tell anyone because she had no medical cover. Eventually on he day of the show, as she was about to go on the runway, the model collapsed and did not regain consciousness.
She was immediately taken to the hospital but she passed away after two days. It was reported that this aspiring model had been on a gruelling ‘slave contract’ according to which she had to work too much just to make it in this industry.
It has been reported that officially Dzyuba was just supposed to work three hours per week and she was also to have medical insurance.
Moscow has demanded an explanation from Shanghai over the circumstances of the young model’s death. The young Russian belonged to the city Perm located in the Urals and she was supposed to be completing her high school.
However, there has been an increasing trend in Russia in which young aspiring models get recruited in China in order to get into this cut-throat industry. These models are made to work lomg hours and are not provided good working conditions.
