Four-year-old Indian boy sexually assaults classmate

A four-year-old boy has been accused of sexually assaulting his classmate with a pencil and his fingers at a school in Delhi. The horrific incident took place while the boy and his victim were alone in a washroom.

The police have registered a rape case against the child but they are consulting legal experts as the age of the suspect makes the case complicated.

According to the details of the incident provided, the victim told her parents that a boy in her class unbuttoned her pants and used a finger and a sharp pencil to assault her. The boy kept hurting her and he did not stop even when the girl cried from the pain. Both of them were alone and no one heard the little girl’s cries for help.

The parents of the girl registered a complaint with the police and stated in it that after returning from school, their daughter complained of pain in her private parts. She then told her parents of the assault.

The parents of the victim have accused the school management of negligence and have also alleged that the principal, a teacher and coordinator did not take any steps even after learning of the incident. The also refused to share the details of the accused student.
The parents of the victim took her to a doctor who also confirmed that the girl had been sexually assaulted.

Delhi Police chief spokesperson is quoted as telling the Hindustan Times newspaper, “The Indian Penal Code provides children below seven years of age certain protections against prosecution. We are examining those provisions even as we are handling the matter with utmost sensitivity.”
