Two police officials found with torture marks after being kidnapped by Faizabad protestors
Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 12:21:21 by fatimaarshadTwo police officials who were allegedly kidnapped by unidentified activists of religious parties from the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Sunday were found lying alongside a road in Islamabad with torture marks on their bodies.
The officers were discovered soon after the sit-in at Faizabad was called off by the religious parties on Monday. The officers had fractured bones and bruises and internal injuries due to the torture they had received. Soon after they were found, the officers were taken to the DHQ hospital for a medical examination and later were admitted to the hospital.
According to a doctor, Sub-inspector Aslam Hayat’s left elbow was fractured and both the men were beaten with plastic coated wire, sticks and batons. The medico-legal report will indicate the extent of the injuries and torture, after which further sections will be added to the FIR which is already registered with the Ganjmandi police on Sunday.
“Both SI Aslam Hayat and Amanat Ali were ruthlessly tortured by the kidnappers and were detained in a makeshift tent in Faizabad after they were kidnapped,” the deputy superintendent of police (city circle) said.
He said the police will record the statements of both men now that they are in better health.
Both the officers were accompanying the bodies of people who were killed during Saturday’s operation to the DHQ hospital for their postmortems to be conducted. At that time a group of religious protestors entered the mortuary and argued with the SI as he was refusing to write what those people were asking him to. In response they beat up and kidnapped both Aslam and Amanat and took them to undisclosed location.
