Amir Khan spins another controversy through his sexist remarks
Monday, December 4th, 2017 12:21:53 by fatimaarshadIt appears that boxer Amir Khan cannot just stay out of the limelight and that too in a bad way! According to the latest reports, the boxer has shocked people yet again through his highly sexist remarks in a recent interview with BBC Asian Network.
Khan, who is currently starring in a reality show called I’m a Celebrity…Get me Out of Here!, said during the interview that once he comes home from work, it is his wife’s job to do the cooking for him.
“I would never cook,” said Khan as he chatted with another man who cooked for his wife if she’d be at work. “In my culture, women, that’s their job to do the cooking. They’re best at cooking.”
But that’s not it! He went on to add, “It’s a man’s job to actually do other jobs like the hard work, the hard labor jobs around the house.”
“Doing housework is harder,” the other man argued, “I would not get as tired on my job as I do when I work at home. Until you don’t do it for yourself, you won’t realise how hard that is.”
To which Khan replied, “I’ve got a dishwasher, washing machine, I’ve never actually known how to use these things. I would never touch those machinery, ever. You would turn into a woman. I’m a man. If I started dishwashing —”
To this, a woman interrupted him and asked, “If you use the machine, you would turn into a woman?”
Amir then said, “Yeah.”
Twitter exploded after Khan’s remarks became public and most people criticized him for such sexist remarks in this day and age.
