PTV director, wife found dead under mysterious circumstances

A mysterious double death has rocked the city of Rawalpindi as a man and his wife were found dead at their home. The man was found out to be an IT director of the state-owned Pakistan Television (PTV) by the name of Fakhar Hameed.

On Tuesday, it was reported that the 55-year-old director and his 50-year-old wife Humaira, were both found dead at their home in Rawalpindi. Police was called to the scene where they found Hameed dead in the bathroom while his wife’s dead body was lying in the room outside.

While talking to reporters, Sadiqabad police said that Hameed had a heart ailment and he slipped while he was in the bathroom and died as a result of the fall. His wife was a cancer patient who was also found dead near the bathroom door. The police believe that she could not bear the shock of her husband’s death due to which she also passed away.

The couple had a 7-year-old daughter whom they had adopted. At the time of the incident, she was at school.

While the deaths are being treated as caused by natural causes, the police are still weighing the mysterious circumstances under which they occurred. They have arrested the house maid for questioning, while the bodies were sent to the hospital for a postmortem.

New Town Circle’s Homicide Investigation Unit’s in-charge, Aziz Sultan said that evidence has been collected from the director’s house and a clear picture will only emerge once the investigations are complete.
