Wife of detained Kashmiri leader demands own meeting with husband after Jadhav’s access to family
Tuesday, December 26th, 2017 1:53:42 by fatimaarshadThe wife of detained Kashmiri leader is questioning India after its spy Kulbushan Jadhav was allowed to meet his wife and mother. Mashaal Malik is the wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, who was detained by the Indian authorities three years ago.
In a recent video message, Mashaal is seen questioning the Indian government over doing all-out efforts for Jadhav, while she has been kept from meeting her husband for over three years. In the video, Mashaal has also expressed reservations over India’s zero efforts in making her meet with her husband, while the country boasts about being a democracy.
Mashaal said that it has been more than three years since she and her daughter met Yasin, who was detained in Indian-occupied Kashmir. She added that her husband was part of a ‘great struggle’ and that the Kashmiris will surely get the fruit of their struggle one day.
She started her message with paying tribute to Mohammad Ali Jinnah, citing a quote from American author, John C Maxwell, “A leader is the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way”.
This hue-and-cry was made by Mashaal after Pakistan allowed the Indian spy to meet his wife and mother in Islamabad, where he is being held. The duo had flown in from India along with the Indian Deputy High Commissioner.
Pakistan maintains that it has granted this visitation right to Jadhav on humanitarian grounds and that this is not a consular access.
