Pakistan considering submitting Jadhav’s family meeting details to ICJ
Thursday, December 28th, 2017 9:21:03 by fatimaarshadSelf-confessed spy Kulbushan Jadhav’s mother and wife met him in Islamabad on Monday and now the Pakistani government may submit the details of the meeting to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) where his case is being heard.
It has been learnt that details of the meeting will be made part of the case which is pending with the ICJ and a legal team will submit the details of the meeting before the next hearing of the ICJ.
The meeting took place on humanitarian grounds in Islamabad on Monday where Jadhav’s wife and mother were flown in from India. It lasted for 40 minutes in the presence of an Indian official who was not allowed to speak to the spy or hear the family’s conversation.
India has accused Pakistan of harassing Jadhav’s family while they were here. However, Pakistan has rejected these claims saying that they were just made to go through security checks and that Jadhav’s mother had publicly thanked the Pakistani government for arranging the meeting.
A team will go ahead with the statement after an approval from Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. This move is aimed at curtailing India from further propaganda against Pakistan in this case.
After submitting the application, Pakistan will content that the case does not fall under the purview of the ICJ, hence it should be dismissed.
It will be reiterated that Jadhav was not an Indian diplomat but a serving commander in the army who was acting as a spy for India.
Finally, Pakistan will ask the ICJ to dismiss the case as it isn’t authorized to hear the case of a terrorist.
