Mardan Nazim claims three-year-old girl raped before being killed

The body of a three-year-old girl was found in a the fields in Mardan’s Gujar Garhi district on Monday morning. While the police claimed that the girl had just been strangled to death, the District Nazim of Mardan, Himayatullah Mayar says that the girl had also been raped.

According to the district nazim, he has seen the girl’s postmortem report and it clearly stated that the minor had been raped before being killed.

On the other hand, DPO Mardan, Mian Saeed denied the claims made by Mayar and said that the girl had just been strangled to death. He further said that the post-mortem report did not mention the possibility of rape and that the nazim was just trying to create a fuss of the issue.

Talking to reporters, Mayar alleged that the police are just trying their best to hide the postmortem report. He said that the girl belonged to an underprivileged background and the police did not want to reveal the real details of the case to avoid the protests which followed Zainab’s death in Punjab.

According to the details provided, the victim’s father was a laborer in a foreign country and she had gone missing from her house just a day before her body was found. Mayar said that he would extend all the support to her family and “ensure justice is dispensed.”

He further stressed that district government will extend all help to the victim’s family. “The incident highlights the criminal negligence of the KP government,” he said, adding “not a single official of the KP government went to condole the victim’s parents and no one took notice of the incident.”
