Saba Qamar’s Hindi Medium wins Best Film award at Filmfare Awards 2018

Our very own actress Saba Qamar’s debut Bollywood movie, Hindi Medium, won the award for the Best Film category at the 63rd Jio Filmfare Awards 2018.

The movie made waves in India and Pakistan for Qamar’s exceptional acting skills and a very relatable topic.

Reacting to the news of the win, Qamar took to Instagram to share her emotions over the win. She posted a picture from the film and wrote “Yayyyyy congratulations!!!”

Meanwhile Actor Irrfan Khan also won an award for his acting skills in the same movie. He bagged the Best Actor in Leading Role (Male) award for Hindi Medium. Khan accepted the award with much gratitude and thanked Qamar for making the movie a success as well.

Vidya Balan bagged the award for Best Actor in Leading Role (Female) Award for the movie Tumhari Sulu. She received her award from legendary actress Rekha.

Despite her great acting skills, Qamar did not win the award for the Best Actor category but she has surely made waves in Bollywood. Before stepping in Bollywood, Qamar had already made a name for herself in Pakistani drama industry by acting in some award winning dramas like Daastaan, Bunty I Love You and most recently Baaghi.

Qamar also models for different brands and she has become a household name due to her popularity. She has several projects lined up for the coming year but it is not certain yet whether she will be acting in another Bollywood movie.
