Dead Indian man ‘comes back to life’ on autopsy table
Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 4:39:24 by fatimaarshadAn Indian man who had been pronounced dead by the doctors, miraculously came back to life when his body was about to be cut open for autopsy.
According to reports, Himanshu Bharadwaj had met a road accident due to which he received severe injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital. At the local hospital, his condition began to worsen after which he was transferred to a private hospital in Nagpur where he was declared brain dead.
Bharadwaj’s body was then brought back to Chhindwara district hospital where it was sent for an autopsy. When the pathologist, Dr Nirnay Pandey was performing the autopsy and was about to cut open the patient, he discovered that he had a pulse and was alive! Bharadwaj was immediately rushed to a ward and given intensive care treatment.
“The man was declared brain-dead and upon his arrival at Chhindwara hospital his respiration was dysfunctional and the pulse was also missing. However, his respiratory organs began responding this morning,” Dr C Gedam of Chhindwara District Hospital said.
Dr Gedam further said the patient continues to be brain dead and still needs treatment.
“At times, in brain-dead patients, the heart and the respiratory system stop functioning transiently, which seems to be the case here. Himanshu is still brain-dead. Thus, we have referred him to Nagpur due to lack of sufficient facilities locally,” the doctor added.
While many people are blaming the hospital’s management for being negligent, Bharadwaj’s family is terming the entire episode a ‘miracle’ and are thankful that he is still alive.
